Jojoba Oil is not really an oil but actually a liquid wax ester. It is well-known for having a chemical composition that closely resembles the sebum found in human skin.

A carrier oil is an oil that is made from natural plants and is used for diluting essential oils so that they can be carried to the skin – hence the name. When using essential oil for massage purposes, you run the risk of irritation or burning if you apply it directly onto the skin since essential oils are very strong and powerful.
Carrier oils are “fixed oils” which don’t evaporate from the surface of the skin and can be used as base oils for massage to eliminate this risk without interfering with the aroma and characteristics of the essential oil itself since carrier oils are entirely fragrance-free.
Extracted from vegetables, seeds, kernels, or nuts, carrier oils are a key element of aromatherapy massages, allowing a potent essential oil to be used on the skin safely. Although they are unscented, they have their own components and characteristics, with different colours, viscosities, and penetration speeds, and they lubricate the skin to allow for easy and effective massage without making it sticky.
Some of the most popular carrier oils include avocado, sweet almond, and grapeseed, but there are many more options, all of which are light and pleasant to apply to the skin.
